A quick history....

My great grand-father, Roy “Dick” Louden, was quite an adventurer. Leaving the family home in Ohio, he travelled all throughout the West - California, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico - just taking it all in. In 1909 he passed through the country around Mesa de Maya in Southeast Colorado, and was quite taken with the rugged and beautiful mesa and canyon country. By 1911, he officially homesteaded and together with his wife, Zita, patiently added to the ranch over the years raising their three children Dorthy, Richard and Willard here.

All three children stayed close to the ranch their entire lives, ranching, playing, working and raising their families. My father, Mack was raised here, as was my brother and sister and I. Now, after many years away, literally travelling the world, my husband and I have come back to raise our children here. Five generations strong.
